Center for Computational Social Science and Human Dynamics
C2S2 is a joint research laboratory of the University of Trento and Fondazione Bruno Kessler, active since September 2021. At the University of Trento, it brings together the Department of Sociology and Social Research and the Department of Economics and Management.
We connect social science, computational modelling and data science to understand social and economic systems, with a shared interest in the relationships between artificial intelligence and society. Our work links basic research, applied research and teaching.
Our mission
We support interdisciplinary research, scientific exchange and postgraduate training. We study how AI can advance our understanding of human societies, how it shapes social dynamics, and how societies of artificial agents behave and evolve.
We promote open science and work with public institutions, civil society and international research partners to share knowledge and translate research into social benefit.
