Four areas connecting computational methods and social questions.
C2S2 investigates everyday human behaviour, collective action, demographic and welfare dynamics, and public health. Across these four areas, we combine computational models, quantitative methods and digital data to address social questions.
Our overarching theme is artificial intelligence and society: how AI can help us understand human societies, how it transforms social life, and how societies of artificial agents behave and evolve.
Human and social behavior: routines, habits, mobility
How routines, habits and mobility connect individual decisions to broader social patterns.
02 / RESEARCHCollective behavior and action: democracy, decision making, cultural and social dynamics
How groups form opinions, make decisions and act together, including the role of generative AI.
03 / RESEARCHDemography, social inequalities, labour market, and welfare systems dynamics
How demographic change, inequality, work and welfare systems shape society.
04 / RESEARCHComputational epidemiology and public health
Modeling disease spread, health behaviors and population-level interventions.
